Physical Description Simon is a tall, chiselled man, always impeccably groomed. He keeps his hair short and out of the way, but cultivates a neat, carefully trimmed moustache. When he isn't wearing uniform, he generally wears relatively formal clothes, sticking to trousers, shirts, and sensible black shoes, and he takes any opportunity to break out the tux, and even the tails. On the occasion where propriety demands it, though, he has been known to be a little more casual.

He always seems very poised and alert, obviously at the peak of physical fitness, and his movements are precise, fluid, and efficient. In many ways, he seems every bit the officer, a hallmark, perhaps, of his upbringing.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Every bit the gentleman, Simon is a rather unusual example of his position, at least when it seems appropriate. He follows orders, he does his job well, and generally acts like the professional soldier he is.

Of course, when he's off duty and the officers disappear, he knows how to have a good time, too. His orderly persona never quite vanishes, but underneath the aristocratic demeanour lies a lighthearted, fun-loving young man, eager to drink, party, and generally have a good time with his comrades in arms. And, of course, he's very generous with the family fortune, which often leads to some quite impressive parties.

In general, then, he's a man of two halves; one a product of his upbringing, and the other of the friends he's made throughout his career. Perhaps these two personalities aren't traditionally compatible, but he somehow makes it work.

Favoured Weapons:
Accuracy International AWM, chambered in .338 lapua (L115A3, general purpose sniper, often suppressed)

Accuracy International AX50, chambered in .50 BMG (Anti-material sniper, often suppressed)

Colt Canada C8SFW Carbine, chambered in 5.56×45mm NATO (Close quarters weapon, suppressed, shortened barrel, fully custom furniture. Often carries a magazing of subsonic rounds, just in case)

'Sig P226', chambered in .357 SIG (Sidearm, often suppressed, hand built by Simon based on the P226. Brushed steel, for that slick, modern look. And because he didn't have time for damascene.)
Strengths & Weaknesses +Professional, highly trained, and confident
+If given an unworkable situation, he won't stop until he makes it work
+Incredibly loyal to people he trusts and cares for

-While he doesn't disrespect authority as such, he certainly does disrespect people he thinks wield it poorly
-He can be very stubborn, and occasionally inflexible; when he sets his mind to something, it can be difficult to change his course
-He has a tendency towards rebellion, especially if he thinks his way is better
Ambitions Simon's ambitions are relatively simple, much to his father's distaste. He just wants to make the world a better, safer place, then, when his job's done, settle down somewhere nice with someone nice, and start a business refurbishing classic cars.
Hobbies & Interests Simon has a fairly eclectic set of hobbies. He maintains a fascination with history and the classics from his private school days, but he also enjoys more scientific pursuits. His compatriots have often made fun of his penchant for recreational mathematics, and he loves working with his hands, too, particularly when it comes to building guns and working with cars. Despite his best efforts, he hasn't quite been able to forget his love of sailing, either, and he begrudgingly takes a boat out whenever he gets a chance.

Personal History It could be said that Simon was incredibly lucky, though he probably wouldn't put it quite like that; born into a position of priveledge, he never wanted for anything, spending his childhood in the lap of luxury.

His mother died in childbirth, but while his father's Naval career often kept him away, he never wanted for love. Felix did his best to be there for him whenever he possibly could, even to the detriment of his work, and they had and, indeed, still have a very close relationship. The one point of contention between them was the Admiral's assumption that his son would one day follow the same career path he himself had.

Simon grew up, essentially, being groomed for command. Every weekend, almost without fail, his father would take him sailing, and tell him about the great naval battles and heroes of history. Much as Simon found it all fascinating, and adored the sailing, he didn't take at all kindly to being forced into a role, even if it were one to which he was perfectlly suited, and it was in many ways the one point of contention between them.

When the time came for his education, naturally he was sent to the same private school his father and his grandfather attended, and though he'd never admit it he rather enjoyed his time there, making quite a few friends and contacts that would serve him well later in life. The major revalation, though, was his Uncle Gussy, the school's resident engineering teacher. Gussy took to the boy without reserve, and when Simon showed a keen interest in mechanics, they spent long hours together, with Gussy teaching Simon how to use his hands constructively.

And that, of course, is when the attack happened. The exact moment was scarred into his memory: He and Gussy had been taking a joyride in the 1914 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, Gussy's pride and joy, that the pair had just finished restoring to working order that same week. It wasn't quite a direct hit, but the car was destroyed, and Simon's uncle crippled. It was a miracle that he escaped uninjured.

That settled things in Simon's mind - He knew, intellectually, that he'd been lucky, but some of his happiest memories had been obliterated, just like that. His uncle would never walk again, and his father's efforts to avert disaster forced him to neglect his son. That was when Simon decided that something would have to be done.

He spent the next three years of his school career devoting himself to physical training, and when the time came and he reached the age of 18, he signed up for the Royal Marines. Some part of him just couldn't accept following in his father's footsteps, but he knew he had to do something, and that seemed like the answer to him.
