Personality & Traits

General Overview Amy is as mentally strong as she is physically. Her training and experiences with the British SAS have honed her into a weapon, but her work under cover with MI5 allowed her to become a social butterfly, or at least fake it so well no one knew any better.

Her training to resist interrogation, torture and general abuse means that she not only takes no shit she is more than capable of frustrating even the best of interrogators.

She is also very skilled at her own interrogations, skills she has honed throughout her career. Even so, she has suffered a little with the guilt of what she has done, in her down time she might go a little off the rails, shes been arrested by the MP's and civilian police a few times. Only her security clearance and record safes her.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths
* Interrogation skills
+ Ludd was trained to both resist and practice the 'art' of interrogation. She was captured once, but never really got to test her resistance as she escaped after a hot meal and a warm bed for the night. She has, however, shown she is more than capable of getting the information she wants from a subject.

* Boxing
+ Amy is the regimental champion in the mid weight category. Even with her small size she is an incredible boxer who fights above her weight class. In the field she is often found knocking out an enemy combatant rather than killing.

* Marksman
+ While she is no sniper Ludd is more than a capable shoot. This said she is a street fighter, as with the rest of her regiment she excels at close quarters firefights, able to quickly clear a building, or a street of buildings and using cover others wouldn't even consider. She can lay down precise fire up to a mid-range distance.

* Staying Power
+ Amy can walk, run or swim for miles. Her position within the ranks of the SAS means she is fitter than most Olympic tri-athletes; and she does this with a pack that weighs almost as much as she does and carrying enough fire power to make an infantry squad jealous!

* Strong minded
+ Well, she wouldn't have progressed through basic let alone to the rank of Captain if she didn't have a strong and stable personality. Her training only hones her natural capabilities.
- However, this strength comes with a downside, she is stubborn and can be pig headed! Once her mind is made it takes true effort to change it.

* Independent thinker
+ Ludd was tagged as a capable officer and leader for the very reason that she thought outside the box, that she could see the big picture and often saw more than she had been tasked to.

Limitations

* Lonely
- The problem with being a Tier 1 Operator she spent 90 percent of her time away from home. She never married or had children. She sees her parents once a year and outside of her unit she has few friends. The secrecy of her job meant that she couldn't explain fully where she went, while there were cover stories she found it was just easier not to have to explain herself in the first place.

* Authority Conflict (Civilian Leadership)
- Even though Ludd is an Officer of the British Army and as such follows all lawful orders, she has a distinct lack of confidence or trust in civilian leadership. She has watched, and suffered from what she considered stupid policy choices that have put unprepared and underequipped soldiers in harms way. She is not quite about her mistrust of the political leadership and might very well have retarded her career.

* Detached Empathy
- Even while she is able to hide her true intentions, and fake a social attitude while she didn't need to do those things she would often adopt a 'cold' demeanour to keep others at arms length.

* Moral absolutism
- Ludd strongly in “right” and “wrong,” and can struggle in situations where neither side is clear. She does not walk the moral line by choice and doesn't like it when she has to.

* Hypervigilance
- Years of being undercover or behind enemy lines means she is always assessing threats, scanning exits and has trouble to switch off.
Ambitions Her transfer to the outfit known as Stargate Command had given her a renewed sense of self being. She is eager to explore what this operation had to offer.
Hobbies & Interests She loves to read, she will often have a dozen books on the go. Even while on duty and in the field she would have an Ebook reader (careful encrypted by the geeks in Intel). She saw no reason why that practice wouldn't continue.

Carter also enjoy running... yes really! She loved the time it gave her to think, or at times not think about, well anything really!

Boxing of course! Even if no one would fight her any more she still enjoyed punching the dummy until it broke!

Personal History Born - 1981
- Amy Ludd was born to James and Kelly Carter in a hospital in Winchester, Hampshire, England at some ungodly hour of the morning. The birth went as expected with no complications.

Boxing - 1994
- Just after her 13th birthday Amy decided, after being bullied for most of her 12th year, that she would take up boxing. Her mother and father agreed to the 'plan' expecting her to give it up very quickly. She didn't, she even became the school champion in the school year that followed. The Bullying stopped after an ill fated attempt to 'teach her a lesson'.

GCSE Exams - 1997
- With no more bullies Amy excelled in her school studies. When it came time to take her exams she passed them all with A's and B's. While her class mates were looking at college and then University she had her eye set on becoming an Officer. That said she did attend collage to jain her A-Levels needed to join the army as an officer.

Joining the Military - 1999
- She was not from a rich back ground and she had to fight to find someone who would sponsor her entry into the military as an officer. Once she joined all doubt that she wasn't the 'right stuff' were cast away and she excelled through the training and later during her career as an officer in the Green Howards Regiment and later with the 2 Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment.

Joining the SAS - 2007
- Ludd underwent selection and induction in early 2007. The process was gruelling, it was as much of a disassembling of who she was as much as it was a rebuilding. Who were were before didn't matter, rank wasn't a thing, only performance mattered. Carrying more than you weighed, if you passed you moved on to the jungle, exhaustion blurred judgment and every small failure was cumulative. Escape and evasion was next, isolation, hunger and fear; discipline endurance was tested here with no one watching.
Induction was quite, no ceremony or applause just a briefing and the implicit understanding that nothing she did would be publicly acknowledge, yet everything to matter. The badge, beige beret and the an expectation to life up to!

Alien Attack on Earth - 2009
- Amy was deployed in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan when the attack from space came. For the most part no one on the ground saw any action. Some fighter squadrons got to shoot at some alien ships. However, a few of the aliens did make it down and they managed to land in the quadrant her FOB was stationed at. She found herself fighting alongside people who had , just an few hours before, been shooting at her. Needs must. The Fire fight didn't last long, no more than a few hours as the aliens didn't seem to know how to fight and rushed their position more than once.

MI6 Operative - Classified
- During her time with the SAS Amy was recruited by the Foreign Office to be seconded to MI6. Much of her time with MI6 was classified and will remain so for some time to come. She was assigned to operations relating to the Alien attack years before.
